16 Oct Day of the Dead – Wahaca & The Vaults



Canela Fina! will celebrate this festivity with Mexican restaurants Wahaca at The Vaults, Pedro Paramo storytelling and dancing,.

Inspired by the traditional Día de los Muertos celebrated across Mexico, join us at Wahaca’s Day of the Dead for an evening of rituals, dance & theatrics. All brought to life in the underground tunnels of London’s Waterloo.

In light of recent events in Mexico, all of Wahaca’s profits from the festival will go directly to the charities supporting those affected by the Mexican earthquakes.

Wahaca’s Day of the Dead Festival at The Vaults: 2nd , 3rd and 4th of November 2017
The Vaults, Leake Street, SE1 7pm-2am
Enter the festival’s labyrinth of tunnels that will play host to Hanal Pixan Mayan jungle and then into a re-creation of the Cemetery Panteon General in Oaxaca, with performances of poetry and songs where guests will be encouraged to pay their respects to the loved ones they’ve lost and much more.
Music will be curated by Movimientos, with DJ’s playing late into the night.


Enter the Weeping Lady’s Cantina: an immersive bar at Wahaca’s Day of the Dead where La Llorona herself will welcome you with tequila, music and spoken word lamenting the children she’s lost. Ay mis hijos!
La llorona is a well known folk tale known across South America and specially Mexico. La llorona will be played by Family Atlantica‘s singer and poet Luzmira Zerpa.

Bring the kids to discover the true spirit of Day of the Dead across the tunnels, join in the hands-on workshops, and sit down for a grand finale screening of The Book of Life.
